Petitioner- DoI 'ignoring Tynwald petition'

Row over local authority interests register

A government department has been accused of making a mockery of Tynwald's petitioning system.

Rae Hamilton of Onchan lodged a petition in 2011 calling for local authority members to declare interests.

But despite a select committee recommending new laws be brought in, they've never been implemented.

Mr Hamilton says he feels let down by the Department of Infrastructure, which has responsibility for local authorities:
