Visit of Bishop Libby Lane

by isleofman.com 19th April 2016
The Island Spirituality Network is offering an opportunity to meet the Right Reverend Libby Lane, the first female bishop in the Church of England. She will be speaking on 'Opportunities for spiritual growth in everyday life', at St Johns Mill on Saturday 30 April from 10am until 1pm.

Following the historic 2014 vote by the Church of England's General Synod to allow women to become bishops, she was consecrated as Bishop of Stockport by Archbishop John Sentamu in York Minster in January 2015.

All are very welcome to attend, although large numbers would need to be limited on grounds of safety. There is no admission charge, but to cover costs donations are welcome. This event is part of Bishop Libby's visit to the Island initiated by the Mothers' Union.
