500 people expected to attend

The Isle of Man is to host the Celtic Media Festival next year.

The announcement was made at this year's festival in Ireland.

The Celtic Media Festival is an annual 3 day event that promotes the languages and cultures of the Celtic Nations and Regions in media.

It includes a major conference of seminars and master classes with presentation of prizes in an international competition across all the main content genres in TV, radio, film and digital media.

Up to 500 people are expected to attend next year's event which takes place from the 29th to the 31st of March.

Director of Culture Vannin, Dr Breesha Maddrell, says it's a significant event for promoting and celebrating Celtic culture, languages and creative industries and they will be working with the Department of Economic Development to ensure it captures the strength of Manx culture both on-screen and on-island.

More details will be posted on the website celticmediafestival.co.uk later this year
