Nesting birds warning

Penalties for disturbing nests

There's a warning about disturbing nesting birds in the north of the Island over the next few months, Arctic and Little Terns in particular.

A stretch on the north-west coast, from Blue Point to the Point of Ayre had some 300 nests there last year.

The terns are Schedule One protected birds under the Island's Wildlife Act, which means they are in danger of becoming extinct.
