School celebrates 100 years of education

Henry Bloom Noble School welcomes former pupils

A primary school in Douglas is celebrating its hundredth anniversary this week – and is inviting former staff and pupils to relive their memories.

Henry Bloom Noble School, formerly Fairfield Junior and Ballacloan Infant schools, has opened its archives with a display of school records and old photographs.

Visitors are being welcomed from 1pm to 3pm each day to see how their old school is faring.

Manx Radio’s Howard Caine, a former pupil himself, met one woman who has fond memories:
