Keys poll to raise voter interest - former commissioner

An outgoing Ramsey Commissioner says he believes voters are saving themselves for autumn’s national polls.

A general election will be held on September 22, just five months away.

Despite turnouts so far being relatively high, Captain Nigel Malpass says some may be avoiding local elections because they’re waiting to deliver verdicts on their MHKs.

He thinks autumn’s Houe of Keys election will see far more people turning out to cast their ballots:
