Slim winning margin in Patrick

Recount required as single vote separates candidates

Patrick’s first local authority election in 20 years saw drama tonight – with a recount required.

And there was the slimmest of winning margins – fifth placed Geoffrey Gelling beat Timothy Neill, the only unsuccessful candidate, by a single vote. Turnout was 32.6%.

The other winners were Robert Anderson, Roger Bankes-Jones, Adrian Christian and Richard Jones.
