Rain stops duck race

Event postponed after poor weather

It might be good weather for ducks today, but it’s not ideal for duck-racing.

The Laxey & Lonan Heritage Trust says its planned fundraising Duck Race, due to be held today (Sunday), has had to be postponed.

Heavy rain last night means the Laxey River is too swollen for the event to be held – it was due to go ahead at 1pm.

Organisers say it’ll now take place at 1pm next Sunday, May 8, at the Laxey Fire Station.
