Gold for Island's Invictus Games soldier

Matthew gets team archery medal

An Island soldier’s won a gold medal at the Invictus Games in America.

Matthew Elliot was competing in the Novice Recurve final last night against Canada, an event for competitors with less than two year’s experience using the bows.

His wife and family were watching him in Orlando last night and his wife Lara celebrated the news on Twitter.

Lance Corporal Matthew Elliot, who suffers post-traumatic stress disorder, is also competing in rowing, discus and shot-putt.
