Retirement age rise hits 1950s-born

Women born in the 1950s are losing out on their Manx state pension in the pursuit of age equality between the sexes.

That message from Island resident Diane Parkinson who says she stands to lose ?36,000 after the retirement age was raised.

The 57-year old from Ballasalla expected to collect her state pension at 60, having paid 42 years National Insurance contributions.
