New specialist offering for pregnant and post-natal women

by isleofman.com 12th May 2016
Rachel Kermeen, the island’s only Holistic Core Restore® coach, pre and post-natal fitness professional, has launched a comprehensive massage service to local women following certification as a KIASTM Instrument Assisted Therapy Practitioner and specific training in pregnancy massage and post-natal remedial therapy.

The launch of this new offering follows Rachel’s successful 6 week ‘Every Woman Programme’ which helps women improve their pelvic floor, core strength and wellbeing.

Commenting on the news Rachel said, “As a professional in my field working with women through all stages of their pregnancy and post-natal journey, one of my goals is to help my clients have a pain free and enjoyable pregnancy and to recover quickly post labour.

The myofascial and skeletal system is put under immense duress and undergoes a complete transformation in terms of function during pregnancy, and afterwards you may also be developing new aches and pains from labour and the various postural strains of handling your baby, specifically neck, shoulders, upper back and arms. This is why treating pregnant and post-natal women requires a specialist who really understands the female body and the entire pregnancy process.

I’m so happy to bring this new offering to the Isle of Man because it is a completely tailored massage therapy and bodywork technique designed with the pre and post-natal lady in mind. This new treatment helps break down stuck tissue, improve blood flow and oxygenate the tissues. If you have had abdominal separation or had a C-Section then this is a great recovery option for you. Unlike traditional massage treatments, this treatment is specifically devised for pregnant and pre-natal women”.
