Parliamentary committee looks into capability assessments

A senior figure at a major UK charity will give evidence to an inquiry into fit-for-work tests this morning (Friday).

Tynwald's social affairs policy review committee is examining the operation of personal capability assessments in the Island - a process which has proved controversial.

Sonya Chowdhury, the chief executive of Action for ME, will speak to a three-man body.

Earlier this week, the chairman of the Isle of Man ME Support Group was called to give evidence to the committee which is due to report back to Tynwald next month.

The sitting, in the Legislative Council chamber in Douglas, starts at ten thirty.
