Lowest number of unemployed since December 2008

The latest figures for the Isle of Man's labour market have been released today.

As at the end of April 2016 there were 711 persons registered as unemployed. This represents a decrease of 83 persons compared to the previous month (March 2016) and is the lowest recorded number since December 2008.

146 person signed onto the unemployment register whilst 229 left it.

68% (481) of the unemployed are male and 32% (230) are female.

892 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month of April.
