Mourners pay respects to racer

There’s been a huge turnout as wellwishers pay their respects to a roadracer from Laxey today.

Billy Redmayne from Laxey died after crashing at Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough in April, just a few months before he was due to make his TT debut.

His funeral is due to be held in Douglas later – but at midday a huge convoy set off from the TT Grandstand to escort Billy on a final lap of the TT course.

Hundreds of people are taking part on motorbikes and in cars.
