Director of the event upbeat about future

The director of Isle of Man Cyclefest says they did exactly what they set out to achieve.

Seventeen-year-old local rider Owen Dudley took the win in the Gran Fondo to wrap up the event yesterday.

It brought an end to four days of action in the north of the Island.

The festival itself was more than just pedal power; music and Manx produce also proving big hits with the large crowds.

The opening round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series took place on a short closed road circuit in and around Mooragh Park to start proceedings on Thursday.

Events then switched to Milntown for the weekend schedule.

Paul Phillips is delighted with the way things have gone and says there's still room to expand.
