RGS teacher celebrated prom with students days before losing his battle with cancer

An Island high school teacher had a great rapport with his students right to the very end.

Forty-three-year-old Mike Pendrill lost his two-year battle with cancer earlier this week - but not before celebrating the end-of-year prom with his A-Level students on Friday.

Tributes have been pouring in for the popular Ramsey Grammar School teacher.

Head teacher Annette Baker says he took great pride in his work - and the emotional photos from Friday's prom night will live long in the memory.
