Manx Charity Junior Achievement will be presenting ‘Collabro’ live at the Villa Marina on Saturday October 15 in a show supported by Pokerstars Helping Hands and in association with Manx Radio. The musical theatre super-group - Michael Auger, Richard Hadfield, Jamie Lambert, Matt Pagan and Thomas Redgrave - swept to victory on the hugely popular ITV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in June 2014, winning a ?250,000 cash prize as well as a much-coveted slot on The Royal Variety Show. They then signed with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music since when their career has gone from strength to strength.
Their debut album Stars smashed in to the No.1 spot beating Ed Sheeran in the process, while last summer’s Act Two was only kept off the top spot by Florence and The Machine. In under two years the band have gone from being unknown to selling more than 360,000 albums, making them platinum album recording artists.
In 2015 they completed a sell-out 32-date UK tour; 2016 has seen the band play prestigious venues including a sold-out headline show at The Royal Albert Hall.
Junior Achievement’s communications and events coordinator Alex Day said:
‘We’re very excited to be bringing Collabro to the Isle of Man. They’re a talented group of young men who offer a compelling mix of operatic and musical theatre numbers that’s earning them a fantastic audience following. This is a concert that’s not only set to be a great night out for the whole family but will also raise funds to help our work in schools with 5000 young people every year.’The show starts at 8pm.
