TT memorial lap to salute fallen riders

Mad Sunday ride-out 'particularly poignant'

The father of a roadracer who died in 2014 says he hopes people will support a lap of the TT course on Mad Sunday in memory of fans, bikers and racers who’ve lost their lives.

The Simon Andrews Legacy Lap takes place on Mad Sunday, setting off from the TT Grandstand at 10am.

Stuart Andrews says this year the lap will be particularly poignant after the deaths of Billy Redmayne and Malachi Mitchell-Thomas.

And he says he rejects the idea that roadracing is inherently dangerous and should be banned:
