Local rider dies in Pre-TT Classic incident

Two marshals and second rider injured

Organisers of the Pre-TT Classic racing have confirmed a local rider died during last night’s practice session.

Dean Martin died as a result of his injuries after an incident at Billown Dip during the 850cc Classic class practice.
The other rider involved, Jamie O’Brien from Liverpool, is described as being in a serious but stable condition.

Two marshals were also injured in the incident - one suffered head injuries and has been flown to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool for treatment.

The second, a retired competitor, sustained ankle and shoulder injuries, but is expected to be discharged from Nobles Hospital later today.
