Tributes paid to Dean Martin

by isleofman.com 29th May 2016

Emotional message from Maria Costello

Tributes are being paid to Santon racer Dean Martin, who lost his life in an incident at the Pre-TT Classic meet on Friday.

The Southern 100 Club says two marshals and another rider – Jamie O’Brien from Liverpool – were also injured.

The club described 58-year-old Dean as a long-time supporter and extended its condolences to his family.

In an emotional post on Facebook, rider Maria Costello called him a “truly kind gentleman” and a dear friend.

She added he’d made her female TT lap record possible, and thanked him for giving her a life-changing opportunity.
