Charges changed ahead of sale?

There's a call for the Island's Office of Fair Trading to investigate the change of ownership of Manx Gas.

Parent company International Energy Group (IEG) has been sold to Ancala Partners, a London-based infrastructure investment firm.

Onchan Commissioner Rob Callister has questioned the timing of the sale - after Manx Gas increased standing charges last autumn.

It was a controversial move, described by Manx Gas as 'cost neutral' but which led to higher bills for many customers.

He's questioned the timing of the pricing structure change: (play audio)

Manx Gas has declined to be interviewed by Manx Radio.
