Marshals had to enter circuit to remove him

A local man has been fined after walking on closed roads during the pre TT Classic Road Races.

Sixty-two-year-old Christopher Sharp appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse earlier.

Marshals at the Billown circuit had to enter the course to remove him on Monday - it later emerged he'd been drinking.

Sharp, of Douglas Road, Ballabeg, admitted the charge and was fined £500.

Police say anyone found entering onto closed roads will be dealt with robustly.
