Purchasing power can overcome overpricing - OFT

Use your purchasing power to avoid being 'ripped off'.

That's the message from the Office of Fair Trading as TT fortnight gets into full swing - and many complain of seemingly-inflated prices.

The body says it's had enquiries about an all manner of goods already.

But it's denied a 2p/litre rise in Manx petrol prices was anything to do with profiteering - pointing instead to supply-side market fluctuations.

OFT Chief Executive Mike Ball said consumers should 'vote with their feet' where possible.
