'Fairtrade Island' status renewed for two years

OWC pleased with ongoing initiative

The Isle of Man's Fairtrade Island status has been renewed for two years.

It was first achieved the accolade in 2008 after coordinating the distribution of Fairtrade goods in shops that aren't supplied locally.

The One World Centre manages a number of local initiatives to promote the plight of producers in developing countries.

It's also a member of the Isle of Man Fairtrade Group - Director Rosmary Clarke believes everyone should support the practice, to help people out of poverty:
