Appeal for witnesses to violent altercation

by isleofman.com 7th June 2016
Police are appealing for witnesses to what’s been described as a particularly violent altercation this weekend that resulted in two males being hospitalised.

The incident, which occurred at 1.30am, Saturday the 4th June, in the area of Prospect Hill and Nelson Street Douglas, involved a number of local residents, with a further number of passers-by having to intervene to calm the situation.

Detective Constable Samuel Cannell said; “The actions of those involved were particularly vicious, with punches, kicks and stamping being reported. This sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable and it’s lucky the injured parties aren’t more seriously wounded.”

Police have arrested and interviewed two males over the matter, however are still keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time.

If anyone is able to help, please could they contact Police Headquarters on 631212 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
