Marine Scene: Wildlife Watching at Castletown

by isleofman.com 7th June 2016
Manx Wildlife Trust has established a network of six viewing sites around the island’s coastline providing a great opportunity to see and learn more about our coastal and marine life. The Trust is pleased to announce a new marine scene located at Castletown. The new boards are perfectly situated in the long stay car park by the Old Grammar School, with views of Scarlett to your right and great views over to Langness on your left. The marine scene was kindly sponsored by The Castletown Commissioners and the Town and Village

Detailed information panels show image of the species you are likely to see, such as seals, dolphins, basking sharks and birds, as well as information on how to spot them and when. The accompanying binoculars provide everyone with the opportunity to better view the surrounding coastline to look for wildlife. If you’ve joined up for our 30 Days Wild challenge, why not make visiting our Marine Scenes one of your “Random Acts of Wildness”?

Our Marine Scenes can also be found at:

• Marine Drive, Douglas
• Kallow Point, Port St Mary
• Bradda Glen, Port Erin
• Niarbyl, Dalby
• Breakwater, Peel

Visit our website for a handy map to show you where to find them, http://www.manxwt.org.uk/discover-our-island/marine-scene-viewing-sites
