Draft expected for July Tynwald

The chief minister admits the timescale for Lord Lisvane's report on the Island's parliamentary system presents 'quite a challenge'.

The peer has taken evidence over two weeks into the operation of Tynwald and its branches, the House of Keys and Legislative Council.

His findings, expected to include proposals for change, are due to be considered at July's sitting of Tynwald, which means a draft report needs to be completed by the end of this month.

Witnesses included current and former Tynwald members, presiding officers, the Bishop, political activists and members of the public.

Lord Lisvane completed his hearings on Friday 3 June.
