Peel lifeboat called out on flag day

by isleofman.com 10th June 2016

Yacht towed to safety

Peel lifeboat was called out yesterday (Thurs 9th) - just minutes before it was due to be opened to members of the public.

The "Ruby Clery" was taking part in RNLI Flag day when a call was received from Belfast coastguard that a yacht was in trouble, 16 miles west of Peel.

The "Sea Time" had been on passage from Ardglass to Peel when it encountered fuel problems along with misty conditions.

The lifeboat took her in tow and the pair arrived back in Peel around 5pm.

Despite the call out, crew members then opened her to the public before eventually re-housing the vessel shortly before 7pm.
