Inquest opens into woman's death

Visitor died in road accident during TT

An inquest into the death of a Liverpool pensioner during the TT festival has been adjourned.

Phyllis Margaret Hine who was 84 and from Woolton, died after a car crash on Peel Road in Douglas on Sunday, June 5.

The incident, involving a white Peugeot van and a red Suzuki Jimny, happened between Quarterbridge and the Jubilee oak tree in Braddan.

Mrs Hine was taken to Noble's Hospital, where she later died from chest injuries sustained in the crash.

Coroner of inquests John Needham said police investigations are continuing, and adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed.
