Minister urges sea services road map

Let's agree broad principles - Gawne

The infrastructure minister is urging Tynwald to agree on broad principles for future ferry services to and from the Isle of Man - before members go on their summer break. 

Phil Gawne will lead debate on two key issues at next month's sitting.  

The Steam Packet Company has tabled an offer to the Manx government to extend  the user agreement beyond 2026, with a promise of investment in new vessels.

Mr Gawne says the offer deserves a response - while options for moving the Liverpool landing stage from the Pier Head to another location on the Mersey, must also be reviewed.

Mr Gawne says Tynwald approval on those issues would allow for progress during the recess:
