End of the road for Parish Walkers

155 finish the full 85 mile course

The Manx Telecom Parish Walk is over for another year.

The last walkers crossed the finish line by the War memorial just before 8am this morning (Sun) - the cut off time for the 85 mile event, 24 hours after its start at the NSC.

Manx Radio's Alex Bell saw some of the final finishers cross the line . . .

The last woman to finish was Maureen Rathbone who clocked a time of 23 hours 54 minutes and three seconds.

The event was won for the fourth time in five years by Richard Gerrard who completed the 85 mile route in a time of 15 hours, 31 minutes, 43 seconds.

First woman home was Karen Chiarello who was third overall - with a time of 16 hours and three seconds - the second quickest time ever recorded by a woman.
