Damage to MER Electricity Box

by isleofman.com 20th June 2016

The Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing for information following damage to an Electricity Box behind the Manx Electric Railway Depot.

The door to the electric box which powers the lights for the famous MER sign has been damaged between Wednesday the 15th and Friday the 17th of June.

Damage like this serves no purpose to the people causing it. It only puts those responsible in serious danger of harm from the electricity, as well as causing financial loss to local businesses, and in this instance harming an important part of Manx heritage.

If you have been in the area around this time and seen anything suspicious, or have any information about this offence please contact PC 317 Beaumont at Police Headquarters or on 631212.

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously. Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
