Mayor welcomes Green Flag judge

by isleofman.com 20th June 2016
Douglas Mayor and Mayoress John and Gill Skinner have welcomed Green Flag judge Michael Foy to the town hall.

Run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy the Green Flag awards scheme recognises excellence in parks and green spaces and judges them against eight criteria including horticultural standards, cleanliness, sustainability and community involvement.

In 2015 Douglas received five Green Flag awards: for Noble's Park, the sunken gardens, Douglas golf course, Douglas Head and Hutchinson Square.

Results for 2016 are due to be announced later this summer.
