Cathedral praised for LGBT welcome

Vigil held for Orlando massacre victims

Peel Cathedral has been praised for displaying a rainbow flag at a candlelit vigil on Sunday night.

The event took place to remember those who were killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando earlier this month.

Islanders stood side-by-side in the Sunset City to show solidarity with the LGBT community.

Lee Vorster from the Manx Rainbow Association says the decision to raise the rainbow flag at the cathedral is a monumental step forward for equality:
