Reduced steam train timetable this week

by isleofman.com 21st June 2016
Isle of Man Railways regrets to announce that owing to an engine failure there will be a reduced timetable on the Steam Railway today (Tuesday 21 June 2016) and Wednesday.

Trains will depart Douglas at 0950 and 1350, returning from Port Erin at 1200 and 1600 on Tuesday and Wednesday or until the locomotive has been repaired.

Chief Engineer Jeremy Reece explained: ‘The cancellation of services is something we very much regret and is the result of a brick arch collapse in the firebox of No. 12 Hutchinson. We anticipate it will be back in service from Wednesday, hopefully from lunchtime. Any updates will be posted on our twitter feed, which can be viewed on our website at www.bus.im.  We apologise for any inconvenience to passengers.’
