New governor attends parliament

First Tynwald sitting for Sir Richard Gozney

The Island's new Lieutenant Governor has addressed Tynwald Court for the first time.

 

This morning Sir Richard Gozney and his wife Diana attended the opening of June Tynwald.

 

He pointed out that his role is no longer to preside over parliament but said he hoped to contribute to the life of the Island.

 

Sir Richard started by complementing the Court on the standards it sets:
