Fire cover shake-up in south

by isleofman.com 21st June 2016

Stations at the ready for change

Two fire stations in the south of the Island will be replaced to meet modern standards.

That's after Tynwald approved spending £1.4 million on the schemes.

It will lead to a new combined fire and ambulance headquarters at Ronaldsway, while the Southlands ambulance station will be converted into a fire station.

Both Castletown fire station, built in 1964, and Port Erin fire station, constructed seven years earlier, will be put up for sale.
