First Names Group’s festive fundraiser wins gold at Citywealth brand awards

by isleofman.com 29th June 2016

First Names Group is delighted to announce that they took home the gold for ‘CSR Activity of the Year’ in the inaugural Citywealth Brand Management & Reputation Awards following last week’s awards reception in London.

In recent years, the international trust, fund and corporate services provider has gained quite a reputation for its annual Christmas charity video, and its prize-winning Citywealth entry centred round their 2015 effort: ‘The Edge’.

This tongue-in-cheek mock talent show features festive ‘performances’ from a mix of First Names Group directors and its impact exceeded the company’s expectations. The video achieved thousands of hits online and raised nearly ?4000 for their chosen charity, Worldwide Cancer Research, which funds research into any type of cancer, anywhere in the world.

Reacting to the news, First Names Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin O’Connell (aka Louis and Shane!), commented:

“We’re thrilled to receive this award and are immensely proud of all of our ‘First Names’ who were involved in the video – in particular our Marketing team who put in a great deal of work behind the scenes, and our directors who were willing to sacrifice their dignity for a worthy cause! The award is a testament to our strong people focus and serves as unequivocal proof that it’s possible to be successful in the industry while still having a lot of fun.”

Sally Burton-Graham, Director of Fundraising at Worldwide Cancer Research, added:

“We’re absolutely delighted for First Names Group and think the Citywealth award is hugely deserved. ‘The Edge’ fundraiser was a fantastic way to raise funds for vital cancer research and showed outstanding effort from First Names Group.”
