The donation of life-saving equipment to the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service will strengthen efforts to maintain community safety in the north of the Island.

The Ramsey Cottage Hospital League of Friends recently presented three automatic external defibrillators to Chief Fire Officer Kevin Groom. The devices will be located at Ramsey, Laxey and Kirk Michael Fire Stations for use by fire crews when responding to emergency events.

CFO Groom said: ‘On behalf of the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service I wish to thank the Ramsey Cottage Hospital League of Friends for its very generous donation. Firefighters are called upon to deal with a wide range of operational incidents and it’s important to have the right equipment at our disposal. These defibrillators are potential life savers and will greatly enhance the support we provide to the local community.’
