The Manx flag will be flown from the UK Ministry of Justice headquarters in London on Tuesday to mark the Isle of Man’s Tynwald Day celebrations.
The Ministry of Justice manages the UK Government’s constitutional relationship with the Crown Dependencies and has been instrumental in helping to promote a better understanding of the Isle of Man within UK Government Departments.
Lord Faulks, Minister of State for Justice with responsibility for the Crown Dependencies, said: ‘The Ministry of Justice is flying the Manx flag to mark Tynwald Day on the Isle of Man. It gives me great pleasure to be able to make this gesture annually, so recognising the historic and important constitutional ties that exist between the UK and the Isle of Man.’
Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK added: ‘This is a welcome gesture and we are pleased it has become an annual event. The Isle of Man has a positive working relationship with the UK Government and greatly values the support provided by the Ministry of Justice. Tynwald Day is a celebration of national pride and also helps to raise awareness of the oldest continuous parliament in the world.’
