Arts Council seeks members

Volunteers are sought to serve on the Isle of Man Arts Council for a four-year period commencing October 2016.

The Arts Council provides funding, support and guidance to individuals and organisations involved in the artistic and cultural life of the Island. It promotes and seeks to inspire participation, creativity and excellence.

Members serve a four-year term of office and can be re-elected once, serving eight years in all.

Two members, Michael Lees and Adrienne Burnett, have reached the end of their terms of office, having served two four-year periods.

Another member, John Quirk, is also retiring, having served for four years.

The Department of Education and Children (DEC) invites applications from anyone with experience and interest in furthering the aims of the Arts Council.

It would especially welcome applicants with knowledge of/experience in:

• Local, private sector, business
• Performing arts
• Visual arts
• Digital/film/media.
