Corlett Bolton has donated ?300 to charity from funds raised at its branch in Douglas in lieu of fees for the swearing of Oaths on documents.
Supporting good causes in the Isle of Man and around the world is important to the firm of advocates and they have decided the money shall be shared between Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man to support the vital work it does in the local community, and UNICEF’s Syria Appeal, which offers aid to 4.8 million refugees from the war-torn region.
Sally Bolton, Director of Corlett Bolton, said: ‘Whenever we have a small payment made to us for the work we have undertaken we have been requesting a donation in lieu of fees so that we can better the lives of others who are less fortunate.
‘We are keen to support local charities as they are extremely important to our community and make a real difference here on the Island, however in all our offices we’ve been shocked at the atrocious situation that so many refugees are in, so we thought it was also important to show our support for this international crisis.’
