The Mayor of Douglas John Skinner has presented the Hon Clare Christian OBE with an engraved heraldic shield to mark her forthcoming retirement as President of Tynwald.
Paying tribute Councillor Skinner said Mrs Christian had served 'with honour and integrity'. In her reply Mrs Christian said it was always 'an honour and a privilege' to be received at the town hall.
Mrs Christian will leave office on July 18, the eve of the July sitting of Tynwald Court when the first item of business will be for members to vote to elect her successor.
