by isleofman.com 26th July 2016

The legendary Bee Gees singer, songwriter and producer, Barry Gibb, will be 70 years-old on Thursday 1st September 2016.

The tribute band Bootleg Bee Gees will be celebrating the great man's birthday with a special show on the Isle of Man.

The trio will perform at the Studio Theatre, Ballakermeen High School, in Douglas. The venue was chosen because it is located in St Catherine's Drive, the street where the Bee Gees were born and raised until 1955, when the Gibb family moved to Chorlton in Manchester.

The Bootleg Bee Gees have performed in theatres, festivals, clubs and hotels all over the UK and Europe for the past fifteen years. The trio has also played live on the Big Breakfast (Channel 4) and Guinness World Records Smashed (Sky 1).

Past and recent clients include: P&O Cruises, Warners Leisure, Pontins, Butlins, Shearings Holidays, plus the Hilton Hotel and Village Hotel chains.

All the greatest hits from Saturday Night Fever are featured in the show, plus Sixties classics like Massachusetts and Words and Bee Gee songs made famous by other artists such as Chain Reaction (Diana Ross), Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton), Tragedy (Steps) and Grease (Frankie Valli).
