The Isle of Man Constabulary is seeking to strengthen its commitment to keeping people safe by recruiting a number of experienced Detective Constables.Suitably qualified officers from off-Island police forces are being encouraged to apply to join the Isle of Man’s Criminal Investigation Department.
The recruitment drive is part of the Constabulary’s programme of succession planning to ensure it maintains the right mix of people and skills to respond to the challenges of modern policing.
While a strong focus is placed on recruiting student officers from on-Island to serve their local communities, a small number of experienced officers from further afield are also needed in order to meet specific demands.
The current vacancies for Detective Constables provide an opportunity to work across a range of key disciplines, including public protection, financial crime and proactive investigations.
High-calibre candidates are being sought to support efforts to maintain strong crime detection rates and to protect the Isle of Man’s reputation as the safest place to live in the British Isles.
Inspector Dave Dobbie, of the Constabulary’s Organisational Development Department, said:
‘This is an opportunity for experienced Detective Constables to become part of a high-performing team in the Isle of Man. We need quality people who will support our culture of continuous improvement and who are prepared to meet whatever challenges come their way. In return we can offer a varied and rewarding career in what is undoubtedly one of the best locations in the British Isles for police officers to live and work.’The closing date for applications is 4pm on Friday 26 August and further information is available on the
