Local charity, Bowel Cancer IOM, is delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with the Department of Health and Social Services in fitting out the new Endoscopy Unit which is due to open in Nobles Hospital later this year. Chairman of Bowel Cancer IOM, Heather Norman said the charity was very pleased to have been able to collaborate with the Department, not only by providing funding but also by helping to enhance the reception and recovery areas which will be decorated using the charity’s colours.
Endoscopy is key to early detection of bowel cancer and the way in which it is performed influences the outcomes. Diagnosing bowel cancer at an earlier stage may mean a better chance of survival. Bowel Cancer Isle of Man is pleased to be involved with the new Endoscopy Unit and looks forward to its opening in the near future. Work is currently taking place testing new facilities before the suite becomes operational.
