Isle of Man Choral Society support Manx Wildlife Trust

by isleofman.com 5th August 2016
The Isle of Man Choral Society has chosen the Manx Wildlife Trust as partner charity to receive the profit from their 2017 Spring Concert at the Villa Marina, Douglas. The concert on 2nd April 2017, featuring the Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra and soloists Karen Elliot and Mandy Griffin, will include well known works by Mendelssohn, Rutter and Mascagni.

Society Chairman Charles Fargher recently presented a cheque to Beach Buddies for the profit from the successful 2016 Spring concert. As ever, the Society is deeply grateful to Tower Insurance whose underwriting of the concerts allows the Society to choose a local charity to benefit in this way.

Rehearsals for the 2017 concert start on 8th September and take place on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays in the month at St Ninians Senior School in Douglas, a new venue for this year. The choir is constantly on the lookout for new talent to swell the ranks of over one hundred sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. Whether you’re looking to return to choral singing, or just fancy giving it a go, please do get in touch. Full contact details can be found on the Society’s recently revamped website www.choral.im and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/IOMChoralSociety/.  Due to the need to order scores in time for the first rehearsal, please make contact as soon as possible so everyone can hit the ground running in September.
