Tynwald Court to elect new Chief Minister

In accordance with the Council of Ministers Act 1990 and the standing orders of Tynwald Court, The President of Tynwald, the Hon Steve Rodan, will summon the Court to a sitting to be held in public on Tuesday October 4th, 2016 at 10.30am to elect a new Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister will be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney on the nomination of Tynwald.

Proposals for the post of Chief Minister may only be made by Tynwald Members and must be submitted in writing and delivered to the Clerk of Tynwald by 5pm on Tuesday September 27, 2016. That evening the nominations will be made known to Tynwald Members then released to the media. Nominees must then submit a written policy statement to the Clerk of Tynwald by 5pm on Thursday September 29, 2016. Once circulated to Tynwald Members the statements will be posted on the Tynwald website, www.tynwald.org.im.
