We’re only a whisker a way from Wear a Beard Day to raise funds for the Family Library.
A number of businesses and schools are already bristling to take part, having signed up to take part in the fundraiser on September 9.
The Family Library and Mobile Family Library is calling offices, schools, families and individuals to take part in Wear a Beard Day as a fundraising finale to the Summer Reading Scheme, which was held on the theme of We Be Pirates!
Staff at the library are all set with their whiskers, while Beth Davies and the Women Today team at Manx Radio have pledged to wear beards for their broadcast on Friday.
Those taking part can post pictures of their beards on the library’s Instagram feed wearabeardday. There are even going to be prizes for the best beards!

The idea is that workplaces and schools can, by staging a Wear a Beard Day, raise money to meet the operating costs of the Family Library and the Mobile Family Library.
Librarian in charge of the Family Library Mary Cousins said: ‘We need to raise funds to meet our overall running costs so any Wear a Beard Day events, no matter how big or how small, will be a great help. Anyone can take part!’
