A Manx charity devoted to helping Isle of Man diabetics and their families will unveil a major rebrand at the Food & Drink Festival later this month.
The Manx Diabetic Group has joined forces with Noble’s Hospital to highlight the benefits of healthy eating over the two day festival on September 17 and 18.
MDG chairman Joanne Clague said: ‘We are urging as many people as possible to visit our stand inside the Manx produce marquee. In conjunction with the dieticians at Noble’s Hospital we will be busting some food myths and encouraging people to read labels when they do their food shop.
‘We have some fantastic giveaways and, for those who complete our family fun quiz, the chance to win two amazing prize bundles, including a Nutri Ninja, an iPad and an iTunes voucher with info on the best food related apps to download.
‘We are also taking the opportunity of our presence at the festival to unveil our new look. Members of the board, who are all volunteers, have worked extremely hard to develop a new logo for the group, revamp our website and improve our social media presence.
‘The Manx Diabetic Group has a proud history of providing financial support to improve the lives of type 1 and type 2 diabetics in the Isle of Man. With increasing numbers of people being diagnosed with diabetes, we are also keen to promote the message that diet and exercise has a huge impact on health and that people need to make informed choices.’
